    Chris Span, associate dean and associate professor of educational policy studies, was one of three University of Illinois professors featured in a recent article about mid-career faculty members. Illinois began offering a set of workshops for faculty members who recently achieved tenure to assist them in navigating the new levels of responsibilities associated with the promotion.

  • Publications Detail Study of Six States' Unique Approaches to Applied Baccalaureate

    The Office of Community College Research and Leadership (OCCRL), housed in the College of Education at the University of Illinois, announces the release of two new publications pertaining to the applied baccalaureate degree. These publications are released as part of a research project, entitled "The Adult Learner and the Applied Baccalaureate," which is funded by Lumina Foundation for Education in Indianapolis, Indiana.

  • Elementary Education Student Teacher Puts Science in the Hands of Her Students

  • Learning about disabilities fosters social acceptance, decreases bullying

    Kindergartners who listen to stories about their similarities with children who have disabilities and engage in activities with peers who have special needs are more socially accepting, develop better communication skills and are less likely to engage in bullying behaviors, according to a new study by two special education professors at the College of Education at Illinois.

Blanca Rincon (Doctoral Student in EPOL) and Casey George-Jackson (Project Director of Project STEP-UP) received an Outstanding Poster Award from Division J (Postsecondary Education).

  • HRE Faculty receives NSF award for workshop

  • Faculty Profiles: Bob Henderson

    At age 17, Bob Henderson pledged "Semper Fidelis" to join the Marine Corp in 1943. Less than a decade later, his duties led him to one of the most pivotal engagements of the Korean War: the battle at the Chosin Reservoir. In service to his country and to those with special needs, now Professor Emeritus at the College of Education at Illinois, Bob Henderson has devoted his life to making a difference.

  • After School Arts Program Introduces Local Students to 'Whole Different World'

    West African drum beats emanated from the room as hundreds of parents and children watched, captivated by the intricate rhythms. Led by master drummer Bolokada Conde, around 20 drummers played together to create a sound unique to traditional African music. But unlike Conde, these drummers did not hail from West Africa. They were elementary students from the Champaign-Urbana area.

  • University Primary School Raises Funds for Haiti via Annual Art Exhibit
