Universities’ subsidization of their athletic programs decreased while these programs’ spending increased when a college sports TV network was introduced in their conference, according to a study by Jennifer A. Delaney, Education Policy, Organization and Leadership professor, and then-graduate student Tyler Kearney, currently the associate vice president for finance and administration at Louisiana State University.

Bosch and Dong Wang, associate professor in the iSchool, have undertaken a three-year study, funded by the National Science Foundation under its Research on Emerging Technologies for Teaching and Learning program, to help students more accurately estimate their knowledge by using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Their study is titled “A Metacognitive Calibration Intervention Powered by Fair and Private Machine Learning.”
