Educational Psychology assistant professor Kaylin Ratner found in a study of more than 200 adolescents that feeling a sense of purpose had a significant impact on their emotional well-being. Those who scored high on purposefulness were more satisfied with their lives and experienced more positive emotions in general.

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) has honored nearly 500 Illinoisans for their extraordinary contributions to education across the state through its annual Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year Awards. The awardees include 13 finalists for 2023 Illinois Teacher of the Year—the state’s top honor for classroom teachers—one of whom is Briana Morales, who is working on her doctorate in EPOL's Diversity & Equity in Education online program.

The College of Education at Illinois’ Online Master’s in Education Programs have once again been named among the nation’s top-ranked, according to the 2023 Best Online Graduate Education Programs list from U.S. News & World Report. Education at Illinois was ranked No. 3 on the list, holding strong from 2022, out of 329 institutions evaluated. The College’s overall programs ranking score was 98 of a possible 100.
