This scholarship is the first of its kind for online doctoral students (the online doctoral program began in 2017). Lee says it has been very easy to set up through Lisa Denson, assistant dean for advancement, and hopes that the fund will continue to grow over time with additional donors who might wish to honor Dr. Hood and Dr. Pak for all the work they do to advance diversity and equity.

Curriculum & Instruction's Sarah McCarthey, Lynn Burdick, and others created and submitted an Innovative Programs grant proposal to the campus Provost’s Office, intended to create an environment of robust support for the College’s undergraduate students. The Bringing us Back Together: Supporting a Community of Learners project was awarded funding just as Fall 2021 classes began.

The College of Education’s new Global Education Mentors Program accelerates pre-service teachers’ growth and infuses them with new ideas that are placed in a practical context by alumni teachers who accompany the students on study abroad trips. The result? Both mentees and mentors are changed, perspectives are broadened, and teachers come back armed to make beneficial adjustments in classrooms. That will benefit not only future students, but our society as a whole.
