Zhu was awarded her Ph.D. in Learning Sciences and Technologies from the University of Pennsylvania in 2024. Before completing her doctoral work, she did graduate studies in learning technologies and learning analytics at the University of Minnesota. Zhu earned her M.A. in Educational Psychology from the University of Connecticut.

Jayathirtha was awarded her Ph.D. in Learning Sciences, concentrating on K-12 computing education, from the University of Pennsylvania in April 2022. She earned her Master's degree in Learning Sciences and Technologies from the University of Pennsylvania and her undergraduate degree in Computer Science Engineering from Bangalore University in India.

In January 2024, Filkins, ’98 LAS, Ed.M. ’10 C&I, Ed.D. ’17 C&I, began in a new role as program coordinator for all four of Curriculum and Instruction’s teacher preparation programs: early childhood, elementary, middle grades, and secondary education. Additionally, as an adjunct instructor for the College of Education, he continues to teach sections of CI 473: Disciplinary Literacy and other literacy related courses.

Kristen Driscoll earned her B.A. in Early Childhood Education in 2012 and an M.Ed. in Teaching and Learning with a Specialization in Literacy in 2015—both from Coastal Carolina University. She recently graduated with her Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction – Literacy Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder.
